Following discussions with the Jersey Evening Post, Jersey Post can confirm that the post office, currently located within the Jersey Evening Post offices in St Saviour, is due to close on Friday 30 August 2019.
The Jersey Evening Post, who has run the post office since January 2017, has served notice in advance of the development of the Five Oaks site and will be withdrawing from the service on Thursday 5 September 2019. As a result, Jersey Post is currently reviewing potential options within the area.
Niall McClure, Managing Director, Post and Logistics, said: “We understand the important role our post offices play amongst the community and we’re disappointed that the service can no longer continue to run within its current location, we are grateful to the Jersey Evening Post for running the service on our behalf for the last two years. We’re hoping to find an alternative location and we’re interested in hearing from anyone in the area who feels they might be in a position to house the post office when the current service terminates in September.”
Any interested parties are advised to contact the Head of Retail and Counter Services, Neil Harrison by emailing Neil.Harrison@JerseyPost.com or calling 01534 616657. The closing date for tenders is 12 July 2019.
The nearest alternative post offices from Five Oaks are Maufant, CI Co-op Locale and Grande Marche, St Helier. These are not due to change and will remain open as normal for the foreseeable future.
