We’re very excited to be able to share this wonderful letter from Buckingham Palace!
Following the King’s visit in July, we invited young islanders to share their memories of the visit, in words or pictures. We received lots of letters, which our posties sent onto Buckingham Palace free of charge.
The King was delighted to hear from you all!
“The King was touched to see your thoughtful letters of support… and greatly appreciates the care with which you created your artwork.”
Mark Siviter, CEO, Jersey Post Group says:
“Receiving this wonderful letter from Buckingham Palace on behalf of the King, thanking our island children for their letters and pictures, is A very special moment. The Royal visit in July was a momentous day for all of us – especially for so many of our children for whom memories of their visit will last a lifetime. Following the visit we received many envelopes from all over the island at our sorting office at Rue des Pres or via the Library, who kindly hosted one of our post-boxes in the children’s area. Local schools and groups also supported the activity. Our posties collated all the envelopes, packaged these up and sent these onto Buckingham Palace and we are thrilled with the response.”
Thank you to everybody who sent in a letter or picture.
And we also want to say a big thank you to the Jersey Library who kindly hosted one of our post boxes, encouraging young library visitors to get involved!
