Below are some top tips for packaging items to ensure they can be delivered safely:

Use good quality packaging

Use high quality, strong cardboard boxes or added envelopes for further protection to prevent the item from being damaged.

Don't over use packaging

Whilst we recommend you recycle packaging where possible, please avoid re-using boxes that have lost their strength.

Never use an envelope for small items

If you’re sending a small item, such as a USB, we advise using a small jiffy bag so it doesn’t get sorted through the letter sorting machine.

Use padding where necessary

Ensure fragile items do not touch the side of the packaging by using suitable padding - never use soft cases or jiffy bags to send fragile items.

Sending important letters/documents

When sending important paper items, use a tube or strong cardboard backing to prevent the item being creased or damaged.

Seal all sides of the packaging

Use strong parcel or vinyl tape on all sides of the packaging which open when securing you package.

Label

Make sure your labels are securely attached to your package and that the barcode and address is clearly visible.

Return address

Always include a return address on the back of your package, including a name and a telephone number.
